Forum
The consensus
of opinion in the survey we conducted in August 1999 was that no more Forums should
be held until after the AWIPS crunch is over in 2000. In the meantime, if you
have a suggestion for a topic related to training that you would like to see discussed
on this page, send your ideas to Robert Rozumalski .
Purpose
The purpose of the Forum is to provide an easy way for SOOs to discuss various training issues, ask questions,
and look for resources in a way that is non-intrusive, convenient, and provides an archive. We use the WWWboard
threaded discussion (WWWboard Instructions) which is best described as a combination
of email and an outline. The email portion sends the messages directly to the Web where the subjects appear in
an outline format.
When you respond to a posting on the WWWboard,
the previous message is automatically displayed in the message window. You can either leave it, delete it, or delete
those parts that aren't relevant to what you want to say. Also, the message window will automatically word wrap--it
is not necessary to push enter when you reach the edge of the message box.
