Purpose of the SOO TRC

The purpose of this site is to support the SOO's training mission. Its creation is in direct response to the many SOOs who identified a need for

• A place to find out about materials other SOOs have already developed so that efforts aren't duplicated
• An easy way to find out about what training methods and techniques work for other SOOs
• A place to ask for information from other SOOs to help solve training problems
• The means to build a stronger SOO community through better communication within the group

In addition to interviews with SOOs across the country, parts of this Web site were prototyped with the help of a group of Central Region SOOs who have spearheaded collecting training resources in that region. Further refinements were made based on a survey sent in December 1998 to all SOOs.
